S3 reveals its brand new identity: Where the Little Bite Big

Welcome to the new-era S3. This is where the little bite big.
Our new mantra is built on our belief that the seemingly little have the power to overachieve.
Because better isn’t always bigger. And if you think it is, well then you’re missing the bigger picture.
You’ll find our new biting big philosophy across our website, in the materials and thinking we share with you and in the attitude of each member of our team.
But don’t worry – it’s new look, same ambitious spirit and down-to-earth culture for S3, as we keep hold of the best bits we’ve always been known for.
Want to know more? Watch below:
In a world where all too often only the big are seen, we’re taking it up on ourselves to make sure the little burst through the seams!
Whether that’s the supposedly ‘little’ brand who we start working with. The one who’s not (yet) the leader of their market, but who carries electrifying ambition (like us). We’re here to help them take on the big guys and hit BIG business goals.
Or, how about the ‘little’ fledgling team member? The one who just needs someone to believe in them? We’re out to give them the opportunities; to put them forward in that meeting. To listen to their input and provide the right environment for them to learn and take bigger and bolder steps in their careers.
And finally, we can’t forget the ‘little’ independent regional ad agencies. The ones outside of the London-centric AdLand bubble but making their mark in the industry and giving the big pedestal sitters a run for their money – especially in a moment when bricks-and-mortar location matters less than ever. We’re out to be one of them. We’re out to champion the rest of them.
Because that’s why S3 exists: to help those with untapped potential in their pursuit to become the overachievers they damn right deserve to be!
Why now?
S3’s Managing Partner, Mike Webb, explains: “Culture has always been the lifeblood of our agency. Our original ‘Be Bold’ proposition is apparent in our 18,000-ball ballpit, team trips & parties, and general raucous personality.
“We have no intention of losing this unpretentious, lively character.
“But over the years this bold identity has grown to mean something more; the ability to take bold steps no matter who you are – something which you’ll find not only in our ambitious creative work but in our record of finding and elevating young talent. We’re super proud of the amount of S3ers who’ve risen up the ranks.
“Now, with a new(ish!) management team at the helm (which in true S3 fashion is comprised of four former staff) we’ve begun doubling down on this ability to champion the little.
“Hence, Where the Little Bite Big.”
S3’s new brand identity is the culmination of months’ of work and collaboration.
Everyone in the agency fed into its creation – and our specialists were able to put their skills in copywriting, design, animation, CGI, brand strategy and more into their own agency’s work. A project close to the heart.
“We create brand and concepts day in, day out,” says Managing Partner Rebecca Campbell. “But doing it for yourselves, to represent yourself and your colleagues and friends… there’s a certain joy to that.”
The new S3 Advertising brand logo shows a cat and a lion, interlocked and representing how, when it comes down to it, there’s not much separating the little and the big of this world. This concept is backed up by reams of brand materials – from copy and tone guides, to design guidelines, to a set of brand values. (We are professionals, after all.)
Campbell continues: “As advertising people we believe deeply in the power of a good brand to build a business. So, it makes sense we invest in our own. Expect to see brand campaigns from us throughout the year, too, as we cement our ‘Where the Little Bite Big’ proposition to businesses looking for their next agency.”
At S3 we’re coupling our new philosophy with a focused business mission: to do work that truly bites big for clients that share our desire to take on the big guys.
“That’s why we favour clients who are not yet the market leaders, but who take marketing seriously and want to bite big in this world”, says Managing Partner, Louise Evans.
“So, if you’re sat there owning or doing marketing for a business and you’re sneakily suspicious or just downright frustrated that you’re not where your skill, passion and tenacity should be getting you – come to S3, and the process of biting big will begin.”
Ever the one for keeping us real, Managing Partner Mel Matthews, adds: “But in all this biting big malarkey – we have a golden rule. No one’s into cloning – if you’re going to go big, you need to stay true to yourself and celebrate the roots that make you who you are, and who we are.
“Whatever we achieve as a hungry agency, we’ll be sure to do that. It’s what keeps us interesting.”
