VACANCY: Traffic Manager

As S3’s traffic manager you’ll be a lynchpin of our agency – connecting account handlers with the resource and personnel across the agency to ensure that our clients’ projects flow through our departments on time and on budget. Our clients’ campaigns are designed across multiple media – from TV, to digital, to PR & more. You will draw up budgets and timelines for these campaigns and monitor the progress of projects. You will own a live all-agency resource schedule and work closely with our departments to ensure that the talent matches the task. You will also provide useful insight direct to the agency’s management team, working right at the heart of the agency’s operations. You will be diligent, commercially aware to co-ordinate and negotiate with the S3 team.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Managing the workflow and project momentum across multiple clients, campaigns and internal teams, ensuring work is delivered on schedule and on budget
  • Allocating existing and confirmed future resource to existing & confirmed projects
  • Working with the Managing Partners to on-board a new agency job management system, ensuring the system’s capability matches the business requirements, and owning the resourcing element of this system
  • Monitor the progress of ad production through different departments and external suppliers, and adjust schedules to deal with any delays or problems
  • Track asset creation for campaigns, ensuring ad dimensions, file sizes, file types and due dates are tracked and communicated to relevant teams
  • Arrange regular meetings to review progress and re-allocate resources to keep production on schedule Running our daily stand-up meetings with the teams to discuss jobs and tasks
  • Identifying resources needed to fulfil projects and help manage a resource allocation to ensure the right person is assigned to the right work
  • Developing project timelines and estimates, working with the client services team
  • Negotiate with departments to problem solve resource bottlenecks
  • Identifying any potential causes of delay early, and acting to resolve any issues and help teams troubleshoot where necessary
  • Managing the request intake from various sources, being able to prioritise the incoming work in line with the organisational priorities Setting and managing expectations and communicating to make sure everyone is on the same page
  • Identify instances where freelance resource may be required and work with the heads of departments to budget for and book their time
  • Run reports to calculate the cost and the effectiveness of a campaign during flight
  • Reporting to management on current workflow and commercial status of projects, communicating any possible capacity or over/under service issues
  • We are one team at S3 so on occasions you may be required to roll up your sleeves and pitch in other areas when needed

You’ll have:

  • Extensive experience of project or traffic management at a marketing or creative agency, or highly relevant business
  • Proven track history of delivering to a high standard on complex resource management cases
  • An excellent understanding of project and traffic management methods and processes
  • Previous experience of using job management systems, being involved in on-boarding systems across a business would be advantageous
  • Ability to use own initiative to prioritise tasks and to strategically solve complex problems
  • A strong communicator, able to communicate to all levels of the business and clients, while keeping everyone informed in a timely manner
  • Proven experience of managing large budgets across multiple clients and projects
